Inkredible Ink     Carrie Young *  Visual Artist

I have been an artist for about twenty years. It has been a battle between my inner dreamer and critic but today I have come to place where I'm ok with sharing my work with the world and hope to bring beauty and fun to your life.

Alcohol Ink

Alcohol ink has become my favorite medium. You may have heard about alcohol ink, but what actually is it!? Alcohol inks are fast-drying, highly pigmented, alcohol-based inks that are great to use on any hard, non-porous surface including glass, metal, plastic, ceramic, stone, leather and polymer clay. Yupo paper and ceramic tiles are two popular surfaces for alcohol ink. Yupo paper is a synthetic, plastic paper that is recyclable, waterproof, and non-porous, making for a fantastic alcohol-ink surface. It has a plastic-like feel and is durable yet flexible. This allows for the ink to move freely on the paper creating wonderful effects. It can be hard to control but once you get used it the results are unique and fun.
